We are home to Swanhaven James, our gypsy cob stallion.
Gyspy Cobs (also known as Vanners, Irish cobs, Romany or Tinker horses) are traditionally from the UK, although found now in Europe , the US (mostly as Gypsy vanners) Australia and New Zealand. They are generally ponies or small horses, heavy boned and feathered. They are a sturdy type with an easy-going nature which are often but not always piebald or skewbald (coloured).
They make the ideal trekking animal with their safe, sure-footed responsiveness, and are unrivaled for private driving and they are a natural jumper.
James is a 4 year old serving stallion, standing at stud at Parkhill Stables.
Each season we have a new batch of foals. These are bred from any of our half or three quarter gypsy mares.
Our aim is to breed safe, well natured ponies and horses. Suitable for general riding and trekking, pony club, cart & carriage work.
At Parkhill Stables, we also have a shop, making many styles of Browbands and Velvet Showcanes. We also have Stocks, Hats & Gloves, and Lapel Pins for Sale. This is by appointment only.
